Social Security $250 Additional Payment
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act

Dear Pensioner and/or Beneficiary Receiving Social Security Benefits:
As you may know, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 included a provision as an economic stimulus for the government to issue a $250 one-time payment to most individuals receiving Social Security retirement benefits. If you receive your Social Security payments by check, the additional payment will be mailed to you. If you receive your Social Security payment directly deposited to your bank account, this one-time payment will be deposited directly to your account.

We have been advised that these payments will be issued no later than June 4th

YOU DO NOT NEED TO DO ANYTHING TO RECEIVE THIS PAYMENT. IF YOU ARE CONTACTED BY SOMEONE OFFERING TO ASSIST YOU TO HAVE
THIS PAYMENT PROCESSED – IT IS PROBABLY A SCAM.

The Social Security Administration warns you not to give your personal information (such as your Social Security number, date of birth, or banking information) out to individuals offering their assistance to process this payment. If you are contacted by someone asking for personal information, ignore them and call the Social Security Administration’s hotline at 1-800-269-0271 to alert them to the possibility of an individual attempting to steal your identity. This would include someone claiming to be a Social Security employee.

Sincerely,

Board of Trustees
