Marc Lyle grew up in North Cambridge and now calls Brighton, MA, home. He shares his space with Teddy, a 100-pound boxer, and a rescue cat simply named Cat, who keeps the infamous Brighton rats in check.

A lifelong outdoors enthusiast, Marc finds his “utopia” at the beach or along the Chestnut Hill Reservoir. He’s a devoted Bruins fan, holding season tickets and making it to about ten games a year. Even during the team’s rough patches, he’s always there to support them.

When he’s not cheering on the Bruins, Marc can be found listening to music—anything from Stick Figure and Jack Johnson to DMX and House of Pain. He enjoys relaxing with a cigar on the beach and loves to cook, having recently upgraded to a Blackstone grill, where he cooks up meat and vegetables to perfection. Cooking is one of his favorite ways to connect with others.

Marc’s passion for food and hard work traces back to his roots. Marc spent 12 years working alongside his late father on a lobster boat out of South Boston, where he learned the value of resilience and perseverance. After spending years in the field as a laborer, Marc brought that same work ethic into his role supporting fellow Laborers in recovery — a transition that reflects his commitment to his union Brothers and Sisters.

If he weren’t in his current line of work, Marc dreams of opening an old-school diner by the beach—combining his love for food, community, and the ocean. He describes himself in three words: transparent, old school, and loyal.
