Meet Stephanie Baez

Published On: October 19, 2026

The Massachusetts Laborers’ Benefit Funds is proud to welcome Stephanie Baez, LMHC, as our new in-house Behavioral Health Clinician within the Health & Welfare department. This new position brings licensed, confidential mental health support directly to our members and their families. Stephanie joins the LEAN team and will work closely with our Recovery Specialists and the Health and Welfare team.

Who is Stephanie?
Stephanie is a bilingual, Spanish-speaking Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) born and raised in Lawrence, MA. A proud first-generation Dominican American, she grew up with a strong sense of resilience, hard work, and mutual support. She also saw how stigma around mental health could keep people from seeking help. Those experiences inspired her to become a therapist and help make mental health care more accessible to individuals and families.

Stephanie brings 10 years of clinical experience across residential facilities, community clinics, and private practice. In her own words:

“I’m excited to serve our Laborers and their families in this new role. I’m here to provide a supportive, confidential, and judgment-free space for members who may be experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, family concerns, substance use, or other behavioral health challenges.”

How can Stephanie help?
As the primary clinical resource for Laborers and their eligible family members, Stephanie will:

  • Provide short-term clinical support
  • Support members in crisis
  • Connect members with the appropriate resources and ongoing care
  • Work closely with the Fund’s Recovery Specialists, Fund Office staff, Business Managers, and behavioral health providers to coordinate timely support

This role strengthens the Fund’s LEAN program by adding licensed clinical expertise, evidence-based care planning, and professional guidance. This will help ensure members and dependents get the right level of care, within their benefit structure, when they need it.

Outside of work, Stephanie enjoys spending time with her family, being near the water, and settling in with a good mystery or true-crime story.

MLBF is happy to welcome Stephanie and her clinical experience and passion for supporting individuals and families to this new role. Welcome to the team, Stephanie!
