LABORERS’ PHOTO ID PROGRAM

The Massachusetts Laborer’s Benefit Funds Photo ID program began in the spring of 2013. In the ever-changing world of technology, ID theft, and unwanted data manipulation, the Massachusetts Laborer’s Benefit Funds and the Massachusetts and Northern New England Laborer’s District Council (MNNELDC) developed the Photo ID Program as a way to protect the best interest of our membership, while looking for ways to enhance and streamline the benefits process. This cutting-edge technology encapsulates a simple card format designed especially for Massachusetts Laborers.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The Photo ID helps reduce lost paperwork, improper hours being recorded, and benefit contributions not collected. Through the use of the Photo ID, a standardized card with the member’s name, date of birth, LIUNA membership number, their MLBF P# and photo on the front, as well as a specialized QR Code on the back, this card ensures that the right Laborer holding the card is the right person on the job.

The Photo ID has a unique QR code on the reverse side of the card. This QR code can be scanned by any smartphone. After scanning the QR code, a member can easily login and view how many hours have been remitted in a given year. This enables members to easily track their hours towards their Benefits and Pension credits.

Using your mobile device (iPhone and Android compatible):

  • Open your phone camera
  • Scan the QR code on the back of your Photo ID card
  • You will then see the MLBF website automatically open
  • The site will automatically enter your MLBF P# for you
  • Enter the password: 123
  • Click “Log In”
  • Agree to the terms and conditions and click “Continue”
  • You can now see your hours reported for the year
Members can have their picture taken at designated times throughout the year. Members must bring:

  • A valid LIUNA member card (book) or receipt with LIUNA member number
  • Their Social Security number
  • ONE valid form of ID (such as driver’s license, passport, state-issued photo ID, Social Security card, military record, naturalization record, or immigration papers)

Members will receive their Photo ID card approximately 3-4 weeks after their picture is taken. Photo ID cards are mailed to your Local Union hall. From there, the Local Union will mail out the Photo ID cards to the members, OR will notify the members.

You can only view hours reported for the year. For full access to your information, you will need to log into the Member Dashboard.
