Tufts Medicine providers remain within the Cigna network
The Fund is delighted to announce that an agreement in principle has been reached between Tufts Medicine and Cigna, securing the continued inclusion of your Tufts Medicine providers within the Cigna network. This means that providers affiliated with Tufts Medical Center, Lowell General Hospital, and Melrose-Wakefield hospital, previously slated to exit the Cigna network on January 1, 2024, will now remain in-network, subject to finalization of the agreement.
Throughout this negotiation process, the Fund office and the Board of Trustees have been actively engaged in discussions with both Cigna and Tufts to ensure minimal disruption for our members while effectively managing costs. The result is a 31-day extension to finalize terms, ensuring that your access to quality healthcare remains uninterrupted.
