Celebrate Men’s Health Month With These Tips for a Long, Healthy Life

Published On: June 28, 2021
June is Men’s Health Month, and now is the perfect time to schedule that annual check-up or appointment you’ve been putting off all year.

More than 50% of premature deaths among men are preventable. When you get regular check-ups and screenings, you’re more likely to catch problems early and live a long, healthy life.

These are just a few other ways to take care of your health and stay strong in the long run:

Make healthy choices: Heart disease is the leading cause of death in men, but eating healthy foods can reduce your risk. Limit sugary beverages, replace a bagel with a fruit smoothie, ditch fries for fresh veggies. Healthy eating doesn’t mean you have to give your favorite foods up — start off by adding new fruits and veggies to your routine.

Take stock of bad habits: Smoking and heavy drinking are both linked to heart disease and other long-term complications. Reach out to your doctor or our health coach, Kristin Woodruff, if you need help to quit.

Get a good night’s sleep: High blood pressure, stress, and other health complications are all linked to lack of sleep. Make sure to get 7-8 hours of good, quality sleep each night.

As always, our health coach Kristin Woodruff is available to help you meet your health goals, whatever they may be. Just call 781-272-1000 ext. 577 to reach out.
